SERVICES TO YOUTH |
The Links, Incorporated vision, is to develop an integrated approach to preparing youth for the 21st century workforce. Today, our organization continues to implement programs that are responsive to the academic, cultural, health and social awareness, development and mentoring needs of youth. Our “National Mentoring Initiative,” is a structured and trusting relationship bringing young people together with caring adults who offer guidance, support and encouragement, aiming to develop the skill set and character of the mentee.
Our “Young Achievers Initiative” for 9th-12 graders, addresses issues challenging high school-aged youth. The Links, Incorporated also has a “S.T.E.M. Education and Career Readiness Initiative.” The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) focuses on preparing and encouraging students to attend colleges and universities with S.T.E.M. programs. Our goal is to equip students of color with the skills to compete and excel in a global workforce |
Historically Black Colleges and Universities Our chapter donates winter coats and professional suits to male and female students at Cheyney University. As part of a larger mentoring program, Cheyney University students who obtain coats also begin a mentoring relationship with members from our chapter. In addition, our chapter provides toiletries and food to Cheyney University’s food pantry.
