International Trends and Services
Our chapter has adopted two young girls from an orphanage in Nigeria and we provide them with academic and personal support.
Rise Against Hunger
Rise Against Hunger is an internationally based organization that provides food to those who are most affected by poverty and lack of food sources. The organization has a goal to end hunger by the year 2030. Our chapter has coordinated participation of local chapters to collaborate in the Rise Against Hunger endeavor for the past nine years. Last year we packaged over 10,125 meals to be distributed to developing nations in Africa and the Caribbean, which were sent to Uganda for the Salesian mission, a Rise Against Hunger partner. The Salesian Missions is an organization that nourishes lives through food assistance and other services in Uganda. To date, we have packaged over 100,000 meals.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, our chapter has donated masks and continues to donate new coats to Cheyney University students. Our HBCU committee partnered with the National Trends and Services Facet on the virtual voter outreach program.
